When you look up the word “innovative” in the dictionary, it includes a picture of the Laugo Arms Alien Full Kit. Its unique appearance not only looks interesting but underneath this design is a world of unique features.
What is immediately noticeable is that the barrel of the Laugo Arms Alien is a lot lower than conventional handguns. In fact, this pistol contains the lowest bore axis in the world, located just 1.7 mm below the shooter's grip axis. This results in a nearly flat recoil angle with almost no advance and therefore ensures that the gun is quickly back “on target.” Additionally, the 122 mm (4.8 inch) barrel is part of the frame, ensuring that it does not move during the firing cycle. This creates a whole where successive shots are extremely accurate.
The carriage of the Laugo Arms Alien looks at first glance like that of any other handgun, but upon closer inspection it is immediately apparent that this is definitely not the case. In fact, this slide only moves on the sides and in doing so, the top plate is completely disconnected. This results in a fixed top plate where the aiming equipment always remains firmly in place and therefore has less to endure. In addition, the entire top plate is easy to change. The slide works by means of a delayed gas piston system, which ensures that the slide only starts moving once the ball head has left the barrel.
What further distinguishes the Alien from standard handguns is the trigger system. Here the safety is located in the trigger through a center blade that ensures that the weapon can only be fired when depressed. When the trigger is pulled, the hammer comes into action. This hammer is part of the top plate and has an ingenious mechanism that allows it to be released only when the slide is fully closed. A convenient indicator in the top plate shows when the hammer is cocked.
To fully customize the firearm to your liking, it includes interchangeable backstraps, interchangeable grip plates, an adjustable keep and a Weaver/Picatinny rail located at the bottom. In addition, the Laugo Arms Alien includes an ambidextrous magazine catch.
